- Please bring something to contribute to the community potluck as well as a work of art in your signature style to donate to the Iron in the Hat Raffle.
- Also a reminder to please wear cotton/natural fiber clothing, and safety glasses if you will be around the anvil while they are demonstrating.
About this event
Robb Gunter will create a candlestick using traditional technique of mortise and tenon joinery. By fitting a projecting piece (the tenon) into a slot or hole (the mortise) and a mechanically strong joint is made. This technique requires skill and planning to accomplish. This will be an important teaching session for all blacksmiths to learn techniques from a master smith.
Please bring something to contribute to the community potluck as well as a work of art in your signature style to donate to the Iron in the Hat Raffle.
We will also be doing our "trade item" at this demonstration meetings, which is if they choose to participate member's/non-members can bring a hook forged in your signature style to trade with other members who participate. (separate from Iron in the Hat).
