About this event

Here is some information about our next NMABA demonstration:

  • It will be held 06/03/2023 at 9:00AM at member Jeff Gonzales’s shop Wholesale Timber & Viga, 300 Calle Industrial #7104 Bernalillo, NM 87004.
  • This demo is called “Back to Basics” with a focus on standard tooling and will be done by Jens Porche (Journeyman Blacksmith from Germany). He will be forging high carbon steel into punches and chisels.

    **** IMPORTANT INFO BEFORE ATTENDING: ****

  • We will have 5 forges running for some hands-on work with members assistance.
  • For NMABA members it will be no cost and for any Non-Member visitors there will be a $10 CASH fee for attending.
  • If you would like to participate in hands on forging, please wear cotton clothes and bring safety glasses. Hearing protection is optional but recommended.

 

Iron in the hat and Pot-luck are open to all NMABA members and any visitors.

Iron in the Hat – Please bring any pieces of iron (either created into something or not) to put into raffle drawing. Tickets will be $5 CASH each ticket and we will pull tickets until all pieces have been won.

Pot-Luck – Please bring any food/drink items you would like to contribute to the potluck, that way we have plenty for all attending. Pot-luck will be held after the demonstration.
